ESCALE A L.A.

I've been meaning to share this amazing fashion shoot with you ever since I curiously purchased a copy of Vogue Paris to ease the boredom of working the cloakroom one night at my bar job. I was hoping to find some interesting visuals, something new to blog about and I fell in love with this amazing collection of a staggering 64 full page images. The shoot entitled, Escale A L.A, is unsuprisingly shot in L.A, and featured locations which I adore, they seem a little fictional and depict muscle beaches and dreamly 1950's surburbs. The photography is all down to Inez and Vinoodh, whilst styling lay in the hands of three of the greats, Parisian perfection Emmanuelle Alt, proprietor of undone styling Melanie Ward and Suzanne Koller of my much adored Self Service Magazine. The models once again embody the elite of now with a line up of Freja Beha Ericksen, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Arizona Muse, Isabeli Fontana and Raqual Zimmerman. As if this shoot couldn't get any more desirable a threesome of Venice Beach's finest long haired boys feature in many of the shoots, and I am oh so partial to the surfer look.

So i'm not sure I can indulge in posting each and every image from the indulgent collection but here are my very favourite;

LOOK A/W SHOW

How fitting to follow my recent collection of posts, Look Magazine are offering a fantastic opportunity to write for them during London Fashion Week, and here I am bidding for a chance to be a part of it through my blog.

I've always been a fan of Look Magazine as they are one of the few fashion publications that has a sense of realism for the amount of money the average style loving Brit girl can splash out on her own look, yet they still bring a forefront of great styling and fashion news each week.

An opportunity to gain such an exciting and influential opportunity through my blog is extremely inspiring, amongst the Fashion Toast's, Style Rookie's and Sartorialist's of the blogosphere are girls and guys alike vying to share their fashion insight and personal style with the online world. I work hard to create something I hope others will enjoy to view and read and it would be amazing to share my fashion forethought with Look readers...whilst soaking up the electric atmosphere of a catwalk show and previewing some great attainable yet beautiful highstreet pieces of course!

So, to Look, please take a look over my blog, I hope it shows you that I am dedicated, always interested and a keen observer of fashion trends.  This opportunity to blog for a publication as reputable as yourselves would truly be a highlight of my fledgling fashion career.

SO..WHO WILL YOU BE?

That's the five trends I feel are important for the coming Autumn and Winter but just who will you decide to be?

The Naughty Rebel Metal Groupie, The Refined and Androgynous Mod, The Bohemian and Artsy Californian College Girl, The Slighty Unhinged Eclectic Lady or The Jewel Toned Heritage Goddess.

The characters which will define next season are very bold and diverse and it will be so interesting to see which of the A/W 2011 girls reigns the on the streets of the UK as well as who the celebrity trend setters embrace.

As for me I just can't decide, whilst I adore the simplistic Mod look I feel my style sits somewhere between the Art College Girl and her Rebel Rebel counterpart. And as it appears that summer is already over i'm going to start hunting to the perfect buys now. 

5:5 CROWN JEWELS (FINALLY)

Finally the 5th trend, this is all about colour.

It's Next Seasons: Primary Paint Box Brights, Red becomes Ruby Burgundy, Yellow becomes Citrine, Cobolt Blue becomes Sapphire. Colour blocking becomes grown up and indulgent.

What hannabytes Says: This look is pure luxury but work the colours into a country inspired daytime look with hints to 1940's glamour and it becomes very wearable. Go for true 1940's indulgence for evenings with turbans, chiffon and silk. Wear with allure and grandeur in perfect timing for the remake of The Great Gatsby. 

5:4 LADY ECLECTRICITY

The 4th Trend, which draws unlikely inspiration from the terminally bewildered.

It's Next Seasons: Well nothing in particular this trend is all about clashing so inspiration could have been drawn from any of the big S/S trends. Call this the wildcard.

Lady Eclectricity is: Senile, pattern clash, furs, knitwear, vintage glamour, midi lengths, motifs, Grey Gardens, charity shops, socks and shoes.

What hannabytes Says: This look is really fun and as soon as I saw the House of Holland and Topshop Unique collections I know it would feed into the highstreet as an eclectic, mad old lady kind of look. The look I have created makes the trend wearable, look to buy statement animal prints and vintage inspired piece, such as the gloves and midi skirt, then add a modern twist with a graphic tee as seen at House Of Holland.
