THEME

The theme of stress....and chain smoking as I plough through the final piece of work for FCP has inspired my title pages for my portfolio. Now I just need some work to put in between them.

Only another million more things to do..but for now i'm happy with these. Loving graphic shapes picked out of images at the moment.

SHOOT1

I need a little break from Whistles an that bleedin' marketing report so here are the stunning photographs we've narrowed it down to for our photographic brief. Was really nice to get behind a camera, it's been so long and I love how freespirited and vibrant the image are.

Our brand is Daughters of The Revolution, you can check out their site 'ERE. the brief we followed ask us to really integrate our model with nature so see what you think.

Here are our final advertisement images....

...and here are some more we just couldn't part with....

Love them! They need a lot of post production work to fit the brief but so far the colours, shapes and lighting are working really well. Success!

KSUBI

Loving these stills from Ksubi's new marketing video for their latest collection of Kolours...a coloured denim range.

"Models Bambi Northwood-Blythe, Cisco Gorrow and Heidi Harrington-Johnson are the matadors to the retro Fords that hunt them down in the industrial wasteland that is Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport. Shot with a Phantom camera, Askill's breathtaking film captures each of the models' movements at 1500 frames per second. We spoke to ksubi co-founder Paul Wilson about the new film and collection.."

Anyway I love it and you need to check out the contrast of the visuals against the soundtrack and pace to appreciate the beauty of this...check out the article and the video in full 'ERE.

Kind of reminds me of Tarantino's Kill Bill and moments from Clockwork Orange..but maybe that's just me.

IDEAS

Just had a little play on Photoshop trying to create something feminine and soft to visualise my ideas for a Whistles launch party....

Inspired by...Babyshambles, Alice in Wonderland, and THIS perfect little online shop.

COLOUR

Just realised there is some serious colour blocking going on right here.

Photo: Rubbish Webcam
Vest: Topshop
Bracelets: Going out too much, Evolution Festival and Topshop.

COUNTING

..down to my final deadline and a summer full of festivals. I made a little playlist of the songs that are helping me pump out the work and look forward to the end of May. I did hunt for the perfect photo from last summer's festivals but they all a little too drenched in mud, undercuts, Strongbow cans and clashing patterns.

Quite frankly nobody needs to see that so here's a lovely snap from Glastonbury for you to click on and have a listen to some Lykke Li and Egyptian Hip Hop.

Check out these juicy line-up i'm heading to over the summer....

Lovely! Only another couple of thousand words and all nighters on Photoshop to go eh.

A SINGLE MAN

With my Mum's Lovefilm membership at hand i've made it my mission to watch all of the films I wish I had seen, and this was one of the first to drop through the letter box. I can only urge you to watch it yourself, with Tom Ford as Director as well as playing roles within the Production and Screen Writing, the film was sure to be visually beautiful and it truly is. I love films in which every tiny aspect of mise en scene has been clearly considered and constructed to aid our understanding of the narrative and this film is no exception. The films tells the story of A Single Man, Colin Firth, and his struggles living life after his partner tragically dies. I'm also keen to note that the theme of homosexuality is treated so subtly and beautifully but an actor you perhaps wouldn't expect to cast in such a role.
