5:2 MOD FUTURE

The second of my 5 trends for A/W 2011 is Mod Future.

It's next seasons: College Glee Club look, varsity jackets and patterns receive a tweak and become far more chic and refined.

What hannabytes says: This look was great on the catwalks, the 1960's futurism reminded me of A Clockwork Orange, the highstreet has added a rockabilly feel but I much prefer the paired don't androgynous look, shape is key, I'm tempted to embrace a pair of Burberry style black kick flares.

5:1 REBEL REBEL

The first trend out of the big 5 is Rebel Rebel, it's naughty.

It's Next Seasons: Neo Grunge Hippy, the summer look saw us rocking tassled leather, sheer maxi's, John Lennon Shades and witchy gemstones.

Moodboard: My own featuring Topshop's take of Neo Grunge Hippy

Rebel Rebel Was Seen On The Catwalks Of....

Looks:

Day
Black Disco Pant, American Apparel, £70. White Semi Sheer T Shirt, find similar at American Apparel. Black Cage Bra, Topshop, hunt these down on eBay as they're old stock. Harness Boots, eBay, around £50.

Night
Leather Dress, H&M, find similar on eBay. Velvet Boots, Bitching and Junkfood, sale price £30. Cross Necklace, see Fashionology for a selection. Sheer Black Shirt, American Apparel, £34.

What hannabytes Says: I'm loving this look and will be using clever layering such as black leather bras through sheer white tshirts to channel the look. Rebel Rebel is also the perfect excuse for amazing heels and dark lipstick. Fashionology provides the perfect jewellery to add a 1990's witchy element inspired by The Craft and Goths. Think minimal and mean, this look isn't about pretty black lace.

GLASTONBURY pt2

And the ones which got away.

Once the sunshine finally appeared on Sunday of Glastonbury the looks shone through too, Aztec and Worldly looks were everywhere and I loved them.

LOVEBOX LOOKS

...nearly bloody forgot didn't I!!

Here they are though, just to make a change my drunken camera action means these need some cropping. What can I say, festivals can't be all work and no play even if you are being the fashion police!

Lovebox has got to be winning as the most styling festival so far! Next stop Standon Calling.

I SEE SOUNDS

I read about this really inspiring collaboration in ELLE. Liberty of London, a company who's heritage lies in fabric, have collaborated with Musicians and the Artists of album cover artwork, as well as drawing inspiration from lyrics and movements within music, to curate a new collection of fabrics entitled Liberty Rocks. My favourite thing about this collaboration is the diversity of the entities which it draws together, surface pattern and music, it makes me strives to think outside of the box when considering collaborations I might use for future projects.

Here are a few of my favourites:

By John Squire of The Stone Roses
A great geometric surface pattern which reminds me of 1950's Americana Kitchens and Diners as well as Catch Me If You Can (2002) a great film, but I love the title sequence equally, it's by Kuntzel and Deygas but screams the archetypal style of Graphic Design legend Saul Bass.

By Storm Thorgerson, creator of the artwork for Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.
A fantastic interpretation of the original and icon artwork, both psychedelic and geometric.

By Swedish Singer Emilia de Poret
And inspired by microphone heads and glitter balls.

By Edwyn Collins of Orange Juice (if you like The Drums check them out, O.J are one of the bands biggest inspirations).
This is perhaps my favourite surface pattern because of the story behind it. The pattern is a collection of sketched birdswhich Collin's drew, one each day for six months, while recovering from a cerebral haemorrhage. The print features the names of each bird along with the date on which they were drawn, Liberty sites this creation as an homage to Collin's dedication. I wholeheartedly agree and think this is utterly beautiful while evoking a sense of true loneliness.

NEIL KRUG + THE HORRORS

P.S. Check out the amazing imagery Krug has created for The Horror's new album Skying 'ERE

Turns out Krug is a contemporary photographer still working today, so I can't wait to see more of his work.

.....

I can't get enough of The Horror's latest single Still Life, perfect 1990's Suede inspired sounds for the Summer.

NEIL KRUG

Found an image today while hunting for inspiration to use on the new Rummage Vintage Blog..which you can find out more about in my next post. Anyway, I looked the image up and found a whole collection of amazing, striking and aged images by Neil Krug, the model Joni (Harbeck) Alexander is now the photographers wife. The images have been collected for Pulp Art Books. Krug used Polaroid film which had passed it's sell by date to create the grainy and surreal desert vibe.

Incredible right?
And they somehow seem so current.
Futurism. Navajo. 1970's.

Amazing. Check out the complete set of images from the book as well as a video of the campaign 'ERE

As well as Neil Krug's webpage 'ERE

If anyone has a date for these images drop me a comment, i'm assuming they're 1980's but i'm really not sure.
