DOUBLE SUNS

Amongst the usual myriad of statuses and photos on my Facebook news feed today stood a post from Totally Extinct Enormous Dinosaurs, one of my favourite producers, although this post was not about a new track, it was a gorgeous surrealist image. I looked into the post and discovered Double Suns, a company based in my hometown of Oxford who have been collaborating with some great local musicians, as well as writers, artists and film makers, to create stunning screen prints for t-shirts and other objects.

Below are image from the first 3 collaboration but keep a close eye for what promises to be a truly inspired and uncompromisingly creative design series. The next collaboration is with Gemma Pharo, a great  montage artist who describes her art as, 'Girls, funny stuff, sports'. Sure to be worth a look.

Adam Gnade

Americana cyclopses combined with delicate golden lotus flowers, printed to soft blue tee's and  amazingly crafted wooden, gold leafed and hand numbered covers for Gnade's latest novella 'California'.

Yannis Philippakis of Foals

The sky palace, screen printed with glow in the dark inks to create a sense of other worldly holiness alongside the 'octoid spinner' an entirely hand crafted disc which spins to create non-narcotic hallucinations.

Orlando Higginbottom aka T.E.E.D

Gorgeously serene yet surreal orchid printed with a currently undisclosed screen printed object, orders still being taken.

BERLINBYTES

I'm off to Berlin tomorrow, so here is my travel blog, which so far has very little on it, but armed with 3 cameras and two travel guides it will hopefully be far more interesting to look through once i'm back and ready to share everything i've seen and done.

MIXTAPE

4 songs I love at the moment.

They don't go together or have any relevance to one another, I just like them.

FOXY

Have been wanting to add this shoot to my blog for months but only just got around to hunting for it online, although the garments featured are nothing special, I love that Vice has taken on such an, at the time, sensitive subject as the release of murder suspect Amanda Knox. I'd love to try something like this, a fantastic creative way of acknowledging the news stories which surround us daily. Plus, this is pretty funny.

MAYA VILLIGER FOR OYSTER

I can never go on a trip to London without stocking up on magazines from the bountifully stocked news agents of Soho, on my last trip in picked up the latest indulgent issue of Self Service, Notion; a magazine which I first bought years ago and is a great compilation of music and fashion, and finally a magazine which I hadn't seen before, Oyster. The Austrailan publication has to be one of my new favourites, I adore the simple yet graphic layout, the probing interviews; this issue features James Blake, Aubrey Plaza and Kreayshawn, and the fashion shoots. Which leads me to Maya Villiger, I fell in love with the quirky yet casual nature of her photography in 'Dolphins for ALL' a shoot which features models in their everyday favourite clothes pictured with great new accessories. Here are a few visuals from the shoot as well as some out-takes which I have pulled from Maya's great blog 'Turned Out' full of her photographs and cut and stick moodboards which I really like.

You can see Maya's blog 'ERE and check out Oyster Magazine's webpage 'ERE .... their TUMBLR is sweet too.
