ALPHA2

So after this post 'ERE I set to work crafting my alphabet inspired by the work of Inez and Vinoodh and here it is...still needs some work, I want to print it out and add some details in pen as well as adding little handwriting notes next to each letter, A is for for Acne...Z is for Zac Posen.

Each letter is inspired by a different designer, I used images from either their advertising campaigns or catwalks to carve into a letter. The layout needs lots of rethinking but I love the letters as they are individually and would really like some feedback about where to go next.

Here are some of my favourites...

G is for...Givenchy

M is for...Marc Jacobs

R is for...Rodarte

U is for...Topshop Unique

and, V is for....Viktor and Rolf.

Still needs more work though!

FALLON

I was rummaging through the US Vogue website last night hoping to be inspired for my report when I stumbled across an amazing ring, the name beneath it was Fallon, as I visited their website I found more amazingly graphic pieces. The line is the younger..and cheaper sister of Fenton which you can check out 'ERE (the pieces aren't available online but the promotional video is pretty cool!)

Designer Dana Lorenza has already collaboarted with Proenza Schouler (you can check out how much I love them 'ERE) and Opening Ceremony.

Be sure to have a look at more on Fallon 'ERE

COACHELLA

Festival season always kicks up some great looks, an inspiring mix of vintage and the seasons most wearable trends really encapsulates how this summer's fashion has been interpreted by the public.

Here are a few of my favourite looks from Coachella so far (From Harpers Baazar Online)

Love how everything has a dash on neon, a clash of grunge against a pretty dress or an extra accessory throw on.

SERGE LEBLON

As part of the photographic brief project I had to choose a photographer who I felt could encapsulate Opening Ceremony as a brand, the photographer I chose was Serge LeBlon and this beautiful video for AnOther Magazine sums up why....

I love the movement, vivacity and innocence of this moving picture.

You can check out some more work by LeBlon 'ERE.

PHEW

I've finally finished my Photographic Brief for Opening Ceremony...granted my memory stick is still at the printers and the work isn't actually in my hand yet!!

Anyway here's a few of my favourite pages, I think my Photoshop skills are finally coming on a little bit...

OTHERWISE OCCUPIED

Just a little post.. because I miss blogging!

I found this today and whilst I love it, it also provides the perfect hint as to what has been keeping me so occupied that I haven't blogged in so long!

Read more about Aurel Schmidt's piece 'ERE

Since i've been gone, I have also...

Paid a visit to Lucy In Disguise and ogled over tape decks crammed with gold chains alongside Lily Allen's vodka and coke stained prom dress and the most amazing vintage Chanel Sunglasses....
Failed miserably at spending a fortune in the Oxford Circus Topshop...
Found an amazing newsagent in Soho that stocked Self Service...and proceeded to spend £18 on a copy...
Visited the hairdresser clutching a photo of Rachel Bilson's beachy ombre hair...
..and finally, found some much longed for pieces in the form of the perfect open weave jumper and navy peg leg trousers in New Look..of all places!

I really hope to make an far more interesting and informed post very soon xxx
