It's without doubt that I can say my dream job after graduating next year would be to work for a top fashion publication, magazines excite us about new trends, give us sartorial aspirations and make clothing an art form through their decadent fashion stories. For now though an internship at one of my favourite titles is at the top of every wish, birthday and Christmas list....if only it where that easy! ELLE Magazine are offering an amazing opportunity for interns of any kind to work on their October Issue, with roles ranging from Hair Stylist, to Features Editor and my dream position, Fashion Editor! Of course I had to apply, this is a chance not to be missed, so please show your support by liking, tweeting, sharing or pinning my entry moodboard!
My moodboard above depicts a fashion story for the October Issue, a shoot entitled Academics Society. The story pulls together some of my favourite collections of the coming season from my beloved Proenza Schouler as well as the newly serious Topshop Unique collection and some snippets from Alexander Wang and Celine. My shoot is centred around beautifully dressed intellectuals as it nods to school uniform, graduation gowns and 1990's student layering within the aforementioned designers visions. The collections would work beautifully amongst the old, elegant cityscape of Oxford, my hometown, particularly within the history steeped bowels of The University and one of my favourite childhood destinations, The Pitt Rivers museum. I think the moodboard shows a really seductive side to bookish scholars and would look beautiful amongst the pages of October's ELLE as it look to the new season.
And wish me good luck!!
